My subject is an accurate count of the time since my last post. Just looking at the device I am using to communicate a lot has changed in that time. For instance I see I can now insert an image or embed some media without having to open a new window, go to the FAQ page, and copy and paste code for 20 minutes to put up one picture. Ain't technology grand.
Today I fly to Fargo ND as part of the job I have held for almost 3 years now. Working as a trainer for FedEx Kinko's. Exciting. I know. I get paid well and write my own schedule so the perks currently outweigh the small cost of my soul that I sold to the man.
Instead of talking here are some things I've been up to via photos: (still getting used to this thing if you want a description of the picture click on it.)

Ok so I can't gaurantee that it won't be another 78 weeks until my next post. I seem to have a hard time using the multitude of devices I joined to communicate with friends. I am actually really good at answering emails (the_mighty_mighty_dr@mac.com) and am now on IM again (Icculus315) so please drop me a line. I don't always have a long time to chat but love cathing up with what people have been up to. To all those out there who have moved, got new jobs, changed their lives, married, gave birth, and had any other life changing event, you are in my thoughts and I hope nothing but wonder and success for you.
Peace out till next post. |

Thank you all for the warm wishes for my birthday. It has been a nice week. Meg and I tend to celebrate the birthday week as opposed to just one day. We do a gift here, out to dinner there, a party here, maybe a movie there. It is very nice. We went to the Melting Pot on my actual day of birth. It was wonderful to go out with two of our close friends and just hang. MN has had winter this week. We got 12" on Monday and another 8" yesterday of the good ole white stuff. So now it is St. Patty's day (the most wonderful time of the year) and it looks like mid January out there. Oh well.
Not too much else to report. The job is good albeit I am not very prepared lately (SLACKER). I wish I was in grad school actually. I have been jonesen to get back into school and the academic world. But ah well. |

| | Ghetto Fabulous by The Crystal | ] | Had a very nice weekend. Meg picked me up from work on Friday after an afternoon of painting my training space in my office. On our way home we saw people flying kites over lake Calhoun and I was like "oh that's cool there is so much wind but they must be cold". Then we noticed the kites were all shaped the same, like a cresent moon with strings on the outer edges. As we got closer we realized they were not flying kites. These people had either ice skates strapped to thier feet or a snowboard on and were surfing on the ice using the "kite" to catch the wind. Paraskating is what I dubbed it. It looked awesome. I am going to look into it as it appears it will be a colder Feb then Jan and the ice will be around awhile. Fri night I stayed up way late playing FF. No harm there. Sat meg and I got some breakfast and hung out a lot, we cleaned and then she had an audition for Hay Fever by Noel Coward which went really well I guess. Sun we slept in and then did some food shopping. Went to a super bowl party that was pretty cool. There was a ton of food and I played Magic: the Gathering instead of watching the big game. Went home and watched Grey's Anatomy damn that show is good. And that was it.

| | Something on the worlds greatest radio station: The Current | ] | Motivation is an interesting thing. I find it easy to motivate myself to do all the things I like. Make time to play FFXI, check the forums, look at my email, post on various sites. But all the things I really should be doing I have no motivation for. Maybe I don't really have any motivation, maybe it is simple laziness and I mask it as motivation for things I enjoy. Eh Whatever.
So Dearly Departed is going well, rehearsals are up and down. Some nights I am really inpspired by what goes on in there and other nights I come away wondering what the hell I am doing and if everyone is just complaining about what bad director I am. I think the show will come out quite well. I meet with the music director for the first time tomorrow night. Per our phone conversations she seems really into it and has some ideas for babtist hymns that will work for the show already. Which is great cause I was kinda stressing about the whole music part. Meg gave me a great idea about the show last night that will keep the flow going. Sometimes it is just nice to tell her stuff that is going on in my head cause she is able to sort it out real fast and say "wait look at it this way" and it makes much more sense. After this we need to focus on our own company and get something going for the fall. First though taxes. I got the name of a guy who did the taxes for one of my actors companies and I guess he will search for every penny he can deduct to get the best return possible. So hopefully that will work to pay off the show from this past summer as the majority of it is still sitting on a credit card. Speaking of getting rid of things. Anyone out there intested in a brand new logitech surround sound speaker system for computer or home stereo. Or perhaps the stereo system I built over the years. I am trying to get rid of them and don't want to bring them to a pawn shop unless I really have to. I am selling the logitech system for $150 and the stereo system for $250. Give me a call or drop me an email and I can send you pictures. The logitech system would make a great gift for any gaming geek audiophile (and I know your out there). The stereo system while large is very loud and great for parties. I would pay for shipping since I work for FedEx. Well guess I should self motivate and accomplish something. |

You are most likely to be caught putting a glove
that you have blown up on your head.
ha..hahahaha. that looks fun. You are
probably a pretty insane person. Go you. You
deserve a cookie. *hands cookie to quiz
taker* And since i gave you a cookie you need
to rate SUPER HIGH!! *quiz taker takes cookie
and runs away* "DAMMIT COME BACK HERE

What Idiotic thing are you most likely to be caught doing? (fixed) brought to you by Quizilla
I am pretty sure that I have to get in gear with this job. I have a whiteboard next to me that has things on it that I SHOULD be accomplishing. Yet somehow those things are on there when I show up to work the next day. hmmmm. motivational problems. |

| I'm gonna need a new resolution... |
[Jan. 9th, 2006|11:01 am] |
Cause this one is gonna be finished in like 30 minutes.
Interesting weekend. We had callbacks for Dearly Departed which went really well. Casting was good and now we have a full show. It went relatively smoothly except for the conflict I had with the producer. Hopefully the only major one. This is a major learning experience for me as it is my first time directing something for a company that is not mine or an academic facility. Working for someone who is controlling the purse strings is a whole new ballgame for me. On one hand they control the money so really they have the final decisions. However, I was hired for my vision, my insticts, my ideas and essentially it is my show. The challenge is that this is also the first time the company has hired a director. Normally the producer has directed all thier shows. So as he said this project might be filled with growing pains for the both of us. And that was cool that we could both see that and acknowledge it. First read-thru is tomorrow night and I am very excited about it. It is a cast of 14 with a music director and a small chorus. So probably the largest project I have worked on since The Serpent. I had a dentist appointment this morning at Meg's work place. It was the first good appointment I have ever had. For the first time in my life I was told to keep doing what I'm doing instead of "holy crap your gums bleed a lot you better floss more". I guess flossing really does work. I have a small cavity that needs to be filled and I also found out that I open my mouth slightly to my left which puts some tension on my mouth muscles. I was asked if I ever had braces and I said no, and was then told I had some of the nicest teeth the dentist has seen for a person who never had braces. That made me happy. I got pretty lucky with that cause before my adult teeth came in I had teeth all over the place and at that point it was a given I would have braces. Never happened thank god (my heart goes out to you mamaslilmeglet. Monday at work and already very little to do. My boss comes in from Chicago tomorrow for my one on one. I think after that I will have a more definative feel of how this job will work and what direction I will be going. I gotta get a different light in my office cause these flourescents are killing me. |

| Day 2 and all is well |
[Jan. 4th, 2006|02:37 pm] |
Cleaned up the new training area a bit. It is a large room that was used for production only so consequently the quality that they kept it is less then admirable for running training classes in. So I need to figure out what I am going to do in there since the space is huge. I would love to paint it and make it look all nice but I don't know if that is gonna happen. I think I had more to say but I was distracted by the video that jack_mirth posted on his journal. Really sweet. |
